This service is designed to offset that problem. New Courses This new course geared for directors, management and supervisors, discusses how to develop a Pandemic Plan. It also explains role of the Board of Directors in the program. This new course geared for directors, management and supervisors, discusses a Bank Secrecy Act/ Anti-Money Laundering compliance program. It also explains role of the Board of Directors in the program. This new course discusses the recordkeeping and travel rule for wire transfers. It also describes common wire transfer red flags. This new course discusses legal issues related to harassement of employees including protected categories, harassment policies and complaint procedures. This new course discusses the elements of a regulatory-required identity theft program. The course describes many examples of incidents that would act as red flags. This is a very important topic that involves nearly all employees. This new course discusses the Environmental Risk Program, explains the guidelines for an Environmental Risk Program, and discusses the steps that need to be implemented. This new course describes the impact of drugs on work environment and explains how to create a drug-free program in the workplace. This new course explains indirect lending, its advantages and disadvantages, and describes how to maintain profitable dealer relationships. Course Updates & Revisions Added new updated materials based on a recently released Federal Reserve study on small business finance. We have updated Digital Free University by taking out out-of-date courses and adding several new ones. Check out the courses for Microsoft Office programs. 1. Late last year, the Congress passed the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act commonly referred as the Talent Amendment. The Department of Defense (DoD) was required to draw up regulations to set terms and disclosure requirements for loans to servicemembers and families. Knowledge of this subject is necessary for all personnel involved in making consumer loans to servicemembers and their families. The Act goes after predatory lenders who make high rate loans which the DoD has defined as "payday loans," "vehicle title loans" and "tax refund anticipation loans." These were made effective near the end of 2007. We incorporated this subject in our courses Compliance Training: Servicemembers Civil Relief Act of 2003 and Compliance Training: Consumer Lending 2. This week the President signed the economic recovery act. One provision provided a one-year temporary increase in conforming loan limits. We have updated our courses Home Mortgages and the Mortgage Market and Residential Mortgage Banking Functions to reflect these changes. 3. One of our subscribes asked about federal appraisal regulations. We decided to add this subject to our course Introduction to Appraisals. We spent most of November 2007, December 2007 and January 2008 updating and revising our courses. This extensive process is designed to insure you are receiving timely and accurate information. You can download the latest version of our course catalog by going to the "Home" page and under "User Services" find the link "Download Catalog." Two courses have been recently updated. Compliance Training: Truth in Savings, Regulation DD course has been updated to reflect recent amendments to Reg. DD dealing with disclosure for overdraft services. Also, the Health Savings Accounts course has been updated to reflect recent changes in the law and dollar limits. New Products & Features In April 2008, we have added new interactive learning exercises to 7 more courses. Since March 2008, we have added over 50 new interactive learning exercises including crosswords, multi answer questions, jumbles, and short essays. During the last two months we have been adding audio/video animation clips to more of our most popular courses. They are used as: (1) short introductions, (2) demonstrations or (3) frequently asked questions (FAQs). They will not add new content. They do not have to be viewed to pass our exams.
